WELCOME TO CLASS 4!

With Mrs Hayes teaching science and outdoor provision. 

 In class 4 we pride ourselves on being positive role models for the younger years in school, and always try our best in every lesson. 

Our Learning:

. English - we're reading The Arrival by Shaun Tan and is about a man leaving his family for a foreign country in an attempt to find work. 

. Maths - we're starting to get a good grasp on understanding fractions. 

. History - we're learning about the Maya civilization. Class 4 particularly enjoyed researching an ancient Mayan game called Pok - Ta - Pok. 

. Science - Mrs Hayes has started an interesting unit on space, class 4 seemed to love the frist lesson and cant wait for more. 

. Geography - Different continents of the world. 

. Computing - class 4 are learning how to build websites, and how they work. 

. PSHE - Responsability.

. Art - Researching they're favourite artists and making power points with their pictures, drawings and information. 

. RE - Class 4 are beginning to learn about Religious art and architecture. 

. Guided Reading - In class 4, we do guided reading 4 times a week. Its a comprehension task based around interesting short stories. 

. PE - We have a football coach come into school on a Monday morning. He plays fun warm up games and has football drills too.

During our first term back after summer in English, class 4 read Thornhill. They loved the book so much that they wrote a letter to the author , Pam Smy, with a few questions about the book. Pam Smy then replied to each letter in detail,answering their questions,  thanking the boys for their letters and encouraging them to do well in English.
